Eskimos’ future
j To the Eskimo, the Arctic is "home” and the most peri feet place on the earth. “The |lce People” studies how they ■ live and thrive in the barren ■ wastes of the Arctic, and how they are adapting to the encroachments of contemporary technology. The old ways of the Eskimoes are departing; the dog team is being replaced by the snowmobile and a new wage economy replaces subsistence hunting. Does the Eskimo have the ability to adapt—and if not, what will become of him? “The Ice People” screens from the N.Z.B.C. television network on Sunday.
