MUSIC BY N.Z. ARMY BAND
Hie New Zealand Army Band will perform in the main ring at the Royal Show on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Both performances are timed for 2.15 p.m. In addition, the band will present a programme near the cattle pavilion at 3.15 p.m. on Thursday and 11.30 a.m. on Friday. Formed in April, 1964, the band plays under the baton of Captain J. D. Carson. Beside providing music for ceremonial occasions and military parades, it plays at various public functions, such as race meetings. Of the 60 players, the band includes 14 members who have represented New Zealand at the world band championships.
