Labour on Lansdowne
If a Labour Government was elected an electricity sub-station would not be built in the Lansdowne Valley or “in its vicinity,’ Mr T. M. McGuigan, the Labour candidate for Lyttelton, said at an election meeting on Saturday. An environmental survey which had been suggested by the Prime Minister (Mr Marshall) was unnecessary Mr McGuigan said. There was a need for action and a firm decision that the installation would not go ahead.
