Money for pool
The chairman of the fundraising committee for the proposed Lyttelton swimming pool (Captain W. V. Wood) said yesterday that about $l7OO had been raised at the week-end. The carnival on Saturday was curtailed by the weather, but fireworks and a bonfire on Sunday evening had helped. It was expected that tenders for the pool would be discussed at the Lyttelton Borough Council’s next meeting, on Monday evening. The amount of money needed by the committee was $2500, he added.
