Games model at Show
The model of the 1974 Commonwealth Games swimming-athletics complex that was shown at the Olympic Games in Munich will be on display at the Royal Show in Christchurch on Thursday and Friday. The model, Games information pamphlets and souvenirs will be in a stall organised by the North Beach Residents’ Association. The model took 800 hours to construct The roof lifts up so that the inside of the pool building may be seen.
The model will be on display at the observation postinformation centre at Queen Elizabeth II Park on Saturday and Sunday.
