Workmen unload a section of the central processing unit of a new Burroughs 6714 computer for the University of Canterbury. The new machine was delivered to the university’s computer centre at Ilam yesterday afternoon. The $800,000 computer is one of five to be installed in a national scheme for New Zealand universities, and will be linked to Lincoln College. Staff of the computer centre have moved to temporary accommodation to make way for the new computer, until another building is built near the existing centre, before 1974.
