Iraq-Soviet agreement

Iraq and the Soviet Union have reached agreement on steps to be taken to implement a number of oil projects in Iraq. The official Iraq News Agency says that a Russian oil delegation left for home today after a nine-day visit to Iraq, during which it attended meetings of the IraqiSoviet Union sub-committee for oil and mineral affairs.
Discussions during the meetings covered projects relating to developing the North Rumeila field, in the south; an oil refinery in Mosul; and exploiting phosphates in the Western Desert and the Nahran Omar oilfield, in the province of Basrah.
