Brabin cricket teams
Two Canterbury Brabin Shield Xis have been named to play North Canterbury and Ashburton colts’ teams next Friday. The team to play North Canterburv will play at Ohoka, and the team to play Ashburton will play at Ashburton. The teams chosen are:— v. North Canterbury.—P. McEwan (captain), R. Wilson, H. Newton, D. Bracewell (Old Collegians), Michael Johnston. C. Abbott (St Andrew’s), B. Thomas (Burnside High School), M. Cavanagh (Riccarton), K. Hartshorne (East-Shirley), L. Forde (Xavier), B. Ritchie (C.8.H.5.). Players to make own travel arrangements and meet at Hagley Oval at 9.30 a m. Bring own lunch and gear. If no transport available please phone 885-607. —Advt v. Ashburton.—D. Rugby.—The South African Rugby Board team, the Gazelles, went down. 16-18, to the Pumas. Argentina’s national side, in their second match at Buenos Aires. The Pumas led 8-6 at halftime.
