Kidney sent from N.Z.

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, November 3. A patient in Sydney Hospital who had kidney transplant surgery within six hours of the kidney being flown from New Zealand on Wednesday, was this morning reported to be in a satisfactory condition. The kidney was flown from Auckland by a commercial airliner in a special cooling container. A member of Sydney Hospital’s kidney transplant team collected the kidney at Sydney Airport and took it to the hospital, where the operation was performed on the recipient, Mr Edward Boxall, aged 51, on Wednesday night. It is believed to be the second time a kidney from New Zealand has been given to a patient with renal failure in Sydney.
