First ballot by railway union
About 150 railway workers in Canterbury will vote next week for their representatives on the National Union of Railwaymen. The returning officer for the Canterbury area (Mr E. S. Last) said that the elections would be the first for the union, which was previously called the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. The elections and conference are biennial and voting is by secret ballot.
