fN.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, November 3. This election will be remembered by one candidate and party deputy leader as a flying election. From November 13 until November 23, Mr L. W. Hunter, deputy leader of the Social Credit League, and nominated Socred candidate for the Ruahine electorate, will travel throughout New Zealand almost entirely by air.
A Palmerston North businessman, Mr A. Brown, will pilot a light aircraft which he has put at Mr Hunter’s disposal. On November 13, the two will leave Palmerston North and fly to the South Island, where they will campaign at Nelson, until November 15. On November 16, Mr Hunter will address a meeting in Greymouth before flying to Oamaru for a meeting the next day. November 18 will see Mr Hunter back in Palmerston North before flying to Warkworth for a meeting on November 20.
From Warkworth, Mr Brown will fly Mr Hunter to Whangarei for a meeting on November 21, to be followed by a touchdown and a meeting at Kerikeri the next day, before flying to Feilding for Mr Hunter’s final meeting on November 23.
