Baptist post
The Rev. E. F. Sherburd, an Auckland Baptist minister, was elected president-elect of the Baptist Church in New Zealand for 1973 at the Church’s annual assembly in Christchurch yesterday. Mr Sherburd, who is 55, was bom in Invercargill, and educated at Otago Boys’ High School. He trained at the Baptist Theological College from 1937 to 1940. His first pastorate was at Wellington in 1940. Since then, he has served at Whangarei and Papatoetoe. He has been a member of the Baptist Union’s architectural committee, youth department, Maori Board, and a president of the Auckland ' Baptist Churches. He is also on the selection board for (candidates for the ministry.
