Suspicious fires
The Christchurch C.LB. is investigating two fires which occurred on Thursday night. Slight damage was done to the Middleton Service Station, 324 Blenheim Road, Upper Riccarton, when fire broke out just before midnight in a toilet block. The second fire occurred soon after midnight in an old unoccupied wooden house at 13 Talfourd Place, Waltham, which was severely damaged. Firemen had to use breathing apparatus to fight both fires.
