Two Germans in Open
6V.Z. Press Association i AUCKLAND. Two ranked West German tennis players, K. Meiler and H. Ploetz, have entered the Benson and Hedges New Zea land open tournament in Auckland from January 8-14 Both are members of the Davis Cup side. Meiler, ranked five last year, has moved up two platings in recent months, and Ploetz, formerly seventh, is expected to be at No. 5 or higher, when his country’s new rankings are announced This is the first time that German players have entered New Zealand’s major tennis fixture.
