ONE-HOUR RACE
R. Yardley (Olympic) will be endeavouring to win the Canterbury Road Runners' Association’s annual onehour track race for the second time in succession, at Rugby Park on Sunday morn ing. Last year Yardley covered 111 miles 177 yds in the hour and won by a handsome margin. Chief among his rivals this time will be the veteran steeplechaser. J D Macdonald (Olympic), and K O’Sullivan (University). Both these men have the speed and stamina to win the event. Yardley’s form, after his third placing in the "King of the Mountains” race last Saturday, must be suspect and he will have to improve if he is to once again emerge victorious.
