Rider under treatment
The Wingatui jockey, J. D. Pankhurst, will be unable to decide until he rides work at Riccarton this morning whether he will be fit to fulfil engagements for six horses on New Zealand Cup day at Riccarton. Pankhurst was treated in a Christchurch hospital yesterday for side effects of a ruptured spleen, an injury he received three years ago.
