More grain sought
The Lyttelton Harbour Board is looking for more grain shipments. The part development com mittee reported to the board yesterdaj that Mr T. D. J. Holdemass had said it was pleasing to see that future surplus R>ulk barley from the Heathcote area could be shipped through Lyttelton and had asked whether barley and grain! from further afield could be gained for the port. Mr D. R. Dowell suggested that the board should try to initiate shipments instead of leaving them to agents, and it was agreed that agents would be advised of the facifitis available for bulk grain exports.
