Miners to stay on
(NZ Press Assn—Copyright) SYDNEY, Nov. 1.
The N.S.W. Minister for Mines (Mr W. Fife) told State Parliament today that R. W. Miller and Company, Ltd, had withdrawn dismissal notices against 400 employees issued yesterday. The dismissal notices were issued after the N.S.W. Joint Coal Board directed that the company peg production from open-cast mining. He said R. W. Miller and Company had been under the impression that the limitation by the Joint Coal Board had been directed at that company only and had not been applied to all other operators iof open-casts supplying the export market.
