Gifts for Games
A gift of $2300 from the Canterbury Caledonian Pipe Band for the 1974 Commonwealth Games is among contributions and promises of more than $6OOO received by the Games Appeal Committee up to October 27.
Others were: Tauranga ounty Council, $1000; Canterbury Netball Association (Inc.), $500; Ballins Indus-tries-Christchurch Jaycees joint Hotel Promotion, $1827.95. Contributions and promises of under $5OO were:—Elmer and Ambrose Studios, $19.72; Leeston Consolidated School, $18; Sterling Wells and Assoc., $161.40; Conway Flat Gymkhana Club, $5O; Mr and Mrs J. H. Keys, $10; St Andrew’s Young Wives Group. $2.33; the staff, B. Dept, Scott Bros, $l7; the staff, Dominion Yarns and Fabrics, $19.79: Sargood, Son and Ewen, Ltd, $250.
