MAN FOUND GUILTY
John Paul Conrad, aged 29, a commercial traveller, was found guilty by a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday on a charge that on April 19 at Christchurch with intent to defraud he attempted to obtain possession of a rental car in Sydney by means of a false pretence by representing that a cheque for $3OO was a good and valid order. Mr Justice Haslam remanded Conrad in custody to a date to be fixed for sentence.
Mr G. K. Panckhurst appeared for the Crown and Mr R. ‘F. B. Perry for Conrad, who pleaded not guilty. Divorce decree.— Rex Huia Frampton, a truck driver, of Timaru (Mr G. K. Pankhurst) was granted a decree nisi by Mr Justice Wilson in the Supreme Court yesterday on a divorce petition against Ngaire Ann Frampton, of Rotorua, on the grounds of a separation agreement.
