SUPPLIES REFUSED
Boat coming to N.Z.
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) HOBART, Oct. 31.
I A South Korean fishing boat, the Kwang Myung 78, [left Hobart yesterday for New Zealand to take on stores and fuel after being refused more than emergency supplies in Australia. The boat, under charter to a Japanese fishing firm, arrived in Hobart last week but because there is no fishing agreement between Korea and Australia it was not permitted to take on fuel and food supplies. However, emergency stores were loaded after talks between Australian officials and the Korean Embassy in Canberra. The boat should reach Wellington in six days to take on a full complement of stores. The Kwang Myung 78 has been fishing south of Tasmania and needs to spend another five to seven months in the area to fill its freezers.
