Blast in Barcelona
r.V.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) \ BARCELONA, Oct. 31. An explosion occurred in a 1 four-storey block of flats in 1 Barcelona on Sunday, and at I least 34 persons were buried' beneath 13 feet of rubble. Rescuers have recovered 11 bodies, and have freed jl7 persons, some of them in condition, from the wreckage. A similar explosion destroyed a block of luxury flats in Barcelona in March, killing 18 persons. That blast is still under investigation. Police statements that it was caused by leaking gas have been contradicted by gas company spokesmen and other experts, who say that the building was destroyed by a strong charge of explosives. In July, the March disaster took a strange turn, when unknown persons slipped into Barcelona’s tightlyguarded Palace of Justice and istole all the documents and' testimony assembled by an; investigating judge.
