CLINIC FOR ADDICTS

AUCKLAND, Oct. 31
Auckland doctors now treating drug addicts would be expected to channel these patients through the new drug clinic to open in Auckland, the medical officer for health for Auckland (Dr N. T. Barnett) said today. The Auckland Hospital Board last night approved the setting up of the new clinic. Dr Barnett said there had been criticism in the past that there were no clinics for treating drug addicts, and that some doctors had set up their own. “Now we have the facilities, I expect doctors involved in the problem to send their patients to this clinic on a voluntary basis,” he said.
