Attendances at theatre
Sir, —Your reporter at the recent public meeting held by the Christchurch Theatre
Trust has given some confused figures for attendances at locally-produced theatre in Christchurch. The correct figures should be more revealing. The figures below do not include attendance at Children’s Theatre. The Court Theatre’s figures and percentages are in brackets: 1971, 27,000 (7000, or 26 per cent); 1972, 46,000 (over 15,000, or 33 per cent); 1973 (estimated), 55,000 (25,000, or 45 per cent). —Yours, etc..
