Asparagus savoury pie

To serve four you will need:— 11b cooked, fresh asparagus, or one 16oz tin 1J cups rich white sauce 4 hard boiled eggs 2 cups sliced cooked potatoes 4 rashers bacon Buttered breadcrumbs Grated cheese Flaked fish or finely chopped chicken (optional) Method: Cut asparagus into 14-2 inch lengths. Slice the hard-boiled eggs and after removing rind from bacon, chop small and fry until crisp. Drain. Place ingredients in layers in a greased ovenproof dish—first asparagus, egg, potato, bacon, sauce. Top with buttered breadcrumbs and grated cheese and bake for 20-30 minutes at 350.

Sweet potato chips.—For a change, make potato chips from kumaras. They are delicious with crumbed fried chicken and pineapple.
