WELLINGTON, Oct. 30.
President Thieu’s personal representative would arrive in New Zealand at the weekend to explain his Government’s attitude to the proposed peace settlement in Indo-China, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Sir Keith Holyoake) today. The Government of South Vietnam had asked the New Zealand Government to receive Mr Tran Kim Phuong who was, until recently, Deputy Foreign Minister and is now the Vietnamese Ambassador in Washington. He was at one time Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand. “The Government has naturally acceded to this request,” Sir Keith Holyoake said. “We shall be interested to hear what Mr Phuong has to say?’
