PREMATURE STRIKE
fN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 30. A quarter of a million matches were destroyed by fire at the Bryant and May match factory in Upper Hutt this morning. The fire was caused by friction in a machine, said the factory manager (Mr J. Gough). Three engines from Upper Hutt put out the fire in quarter of an hour. Production at the factory was not affected.
