Open title to Thomson

P. W. Thomson, five times the winner of the British Open, won his third Australian open golf championship, beating his fellow Australian, D. Graham, by six strokes in their 18-hole play-off at the Kooyonga course in Adelaide yesterday.
The veteran Australian went round in 68, four under par. to equal the course record set last Thursday by T Kendall, of New Zealand, and which he equalled on Saturday, with M. Bembridge, of Britain.
