Attempt on safe fails
An attempt at the weekend to cut open a safe at the premises of Hardie and Thomson, timber merchant, 1062 Colombo Street, St Albans, failed when, it is believed. the burglars were disturbed. The intruders left behind two gas cylinders for cutting equipment which had been stolen from Bellamy and East, welders, of Victoria Street.
Detectives last night arrested two men, both aged 21, who will apnear in the Christchurch Magistrate’s Court this morning on charges of burglary. ,
