Sunday night dancing?
An application has been made to the Licensing Control Commission by the White Heron Travel Lodge for permission to hold Sunday evening dancing. At the hotel’s request, the rural districts council of the Paparua County Council yesterday decided to approve of the application. The chairman (Cr A. Y. Shuker) said that the application was associated with the hotel’s dining-room. “We have dancing six nights a week. I may be old fashioned, but I can’t find any enthusiasm for this,” said Cr R. H. Mayer.
“What’s the difference in watching television seven nights a week?” said the county chairman (Mr D. H. Warren). On his motion, it was agreed to approve the application.
