Flower strikes fear in police
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ROME, Oct. 29.
A girl who put a flower in a letter to her boy friend, a Libyan Jew, caused panic in an Israeli recreation centre in Rome. When the mail was delivered, the Libyan was not there. A person who saw the envelope touched it and felt something inside and immediately called the police. Artillery experts were called, fearing a booby trap. As the experts prepared to open the letter, the Libyan walked in. He recognised the handwriting and tore open the envelope. Out came the flower.
