Even Return in form
“The Press” Special Service WANGANUI Even Return came into calculations for the Farewell Hack Handicap at the Rangitikei fixture tomorrow with an encouraging final trial at Wanganui yesterday morning. Trials took place 20ft out on the No. 1 grass, which was firm, apart from a watered patch across the top bend. Even Return ran half a mile in company with a Copenhagen II youngster in 49 4-ssec. the last three in 37 2-ssec. Scherzo was shading Bareve, which had the outside running, and Parlez d’Amour at the finish of six in Imin 16|sec, the last three in 39sec. Goldy Girl showed her customary zest to run five furlongs in Imin 21sec, the last three in 37 l-ssec. She found Trentham a little rich on Monday but looks ready to make amends in provincial company.
