OSLO, October 26
Norway’s three - party Government has announced that it will try to establish the closest possible ties with the enlarged European Common Market, although the country rejected membership of the group in a referendum a few weeks ago. The ties would be based on a free trade agreement, according to a policy statement to Parliament by the Coalition led by the Prime Minister (Mr Korvald). The statement said there would be no change in Norway’s foreign policy, which would continue to be based on the United Nations, N.AT.O. and Norway’s other international commitments.
