Tunnel anniversary
The Otira railway tunnel will be 50 years old on August 4, 1973, and a committee was formed at a meeting at Otira on Sunday to arrange a celebration. The committee’s secretary (Mr W. Mincham) said yesterday that it was interested in gathering information on the twenty-fifth anniversary celebrations in 1948, and recruiting more members.— (F.0.0.R., Greymouth).
