Report on fires
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. A full report on two big fires at Wellington last weekend has been called for by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Highet). He said he was concerned about the fires and had asked his department to prepare the report. This would contain the department’s thinking and that of the Fire Services Council on buildings having to be 150 ft high before a sprinkler system is compulsory.
