AIRPORT SITE
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, Sept. 27. Te Horo is favoured as the site for the second airport for Wellington by the Jumbo Jet Committee. In its submissions th the Government committee of inquiry, it has strongly recommended this site, 11 miles from Paraparaumu. The secretary (Mr B. K. Plimmer) said: “The Te Horo site would best suit the requirements of the whole (Wellington) region and at the same time could be developed with adequate poorer-quality low-cost land for expansion, and minimum disturbance to existing residents and facilities.”
Candidate.—Mr P. A. Blakeborough, aged 35, a taxi driver, is the National Party candidate for Onehunga at the General Election.—(P A.)
