AUSTRALIAN CYCLIST

(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL. The Australian cyclist, J. Bylsma has refused a free trip to New Zealand next month to compete in the Rothmans four-day tour of Southland. His place will be taken by a fellow-Mel-bourne cyclist, D. Allan, who is at present second in the tour of Tasmania race. Bylsma advised the tour organising committee that he would be unavailable. Since his return from the Olympic Games in Munich, he has laid off training. The Southland Cycling Centre has undertaken to bring Allan out for the tour. “A hotel is paying the air fare for Allan, who is ranked No. 2 road cyclist in Australia behind C. Sefton, the silver medallist at Munich,” a spokesman said.
