Recipient of kidney

(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Sept. 27. A man from Nelson Creek, near Greymouth, Mr Ross Sadler, was one of the two persons given a new kidney in the first dual kidney transplant operation to be done in Christchurch. His wife said today, after speaking with Christchurch Hospital, that her husband was fine. Mrs Sadler said that they had been waiting for two years for such a chance. During this time, Mr Sadler has been kept alive by a kidney machine. When the machine was first installed at the Sadler home, it was found that the water was too hard.

The problem was overcome by using a special water softener device, bought by the Greymouth Lions Club.
