The Conservator of Forests for the above Conservancy invites written applications for rights as shown in the schedule below. Export in log form is excluded. 2. Applications are in the first instance to be submitted in the form of proposals to utilise, with sufficient particulars to enable the Minister of Forests to evaluate and compare applications, with due regard to public interest, and efficiency of operations. 3. Where the total annual quantity for which an application is accented is not less than 1,000,000 cubic feet (28,317 m 3 (r) ) the period of sale will be 20 years, and for lesser quantities 5 years. The minimum annual quantity for which applications will be considered is 250,000 cubic feet, (7079m3 (r) ). 4. The contract(s) will be in terms of the relevant standard Forest Service Long Term Contract for Issue of Agreements for Sale and Purchase of Forest Produce current at date of Issue. Documents, including initial 21 years Licence(s) must be completed within 14 days of acceptance of proposals and before cutting commences, and may be perused at the Forest Service offices at Auckland, Thames, Tairua, Athenree or Maramarua. Inspection by arrangement with these offices. 5. The Minister will have the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received, to take up or resume negotiations at any time with any applicant, and to modify and/ or subsequently reject any applicant’s proposals. 6. Upon completion of the initial compartment(s), area(s) or other unit(s), the successful applicant(s) will be entitled to further quantities of timber at the current Forest Service valuation and standard licence terms. 7. The proposals must specify the species and quantity of wood required annually, with separate prices (in cents and tenths of a cent per cubic foot or metric equivalents) by species and forest for sawlogs. posts, poles and other roundwood, and for pulpwood. Prices will be subject to revaluations, details of which will be negotiated with proposers. 8. Proposers must satisfy the Minister as to the technical and economic viability of the proposals, including the availability of markets, and must state the location of the proposed processing plants and the products to be manufactured, and the intended date of commencement. Preference will be given to applicants who undertake full utilisation of all material. 9. In considering proposals received, the Minister will take into account the impact of proposals on regional development and the national interest. Interested parties will on request be supplied with the general criteria which will be used to assess
