“The Press’’ Special Service INVERCARGILL.
The Invercargill trainer, J. A. Gordon, will leave for Walmate tomorrow with General Bld, Silver Savant and Abebe, all of which are engaged at the Waimate Hunt meeting on Saturday. Gordon will return home with the trio on Sunday, but will return to Canterbury for the Christchurch Hunt, South Canterbury Hunt and Grand National meetings. B. L. Shaw will ride Abebe and General Bid, and R B. Weaver is to continue his asso-l elation with Silver Savant in I lite Te Waimate Steeplechase.
Shaw’s other mounts at Waimate include Bimerah, I Georgetown Lass, Shirley’s Last! and Atabell. Atabell will also return to Invercargill with her trainer. D. Thomas, after racing at Waimate, but it is hoped to race her at the South Canterbury Hunt. Christchurch Hunt and Grand National meetings. Another Invercargill rider, M. J. Lawson, will ride Lynwood Lass, Nyanza and Magool at Waimate.
