Broadlands acquisitions
The Broadlands Dominion Group, Ltd, has acquired all the shares of Westbum Investments, Ltd, and Warwick Credits, Ltd, both of Christchurch. The receivables of the ttwo companies from hire mirchase and direct lending total more than $600,000. An undisclosed number of Broadlands shares was the consideration. Noranda issue Noranda Mines, Ltd, will offer a half interest in the Jim Jim uranium discovery, Northern Territory, to Australian residents, once a viable operation is established, the directors have announced. The shares will be offered to Australian investors at “a fair and just price” and a similar policy will apply to any other mines Nor-* anda finds, they said. Theyl were in favour of operations* outside Canada being managed by “nationals of the host countries.” “Noranda be-f lieves that its operations iq other countries should be under the direction of a board of directors of which a majority are nationals of the host country,’* they said.— (P.A.-Reuter).
