New oil for two-strokes

A new lubricant intended for use in two-stroke motorcycle engines, Castrol super two-stroke oil, is now available in New Zealand. The oil has been formulated, particularly, to satisfy the rigorous demands of modem air-cooled twostroke engines, especially those operating under racing or arduous conditions.

The makers claim that the new oil contains additives which convert hard carbon produced by combustion of the fuel and oil into friable ash. This is easily blown from the combustion chamber and from around the exhaust ports.

Castrol also claims that the oil provides a cleaner burning mixture, increases spark plug life and reduces piston ring sticking. It is suitable for mixing with petrol or for automatic lubrication systems.
