(N.Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 12. The granting of internal self-government to the Cook Islands by New Zealand has not lowered the price of building in Rarotonga. The New Zealand High Commissioner’s residence on Rarotonga will cost $185,000. The Minister of Island Affairs (Mr Maclntyre) gave this information in a written reply to a question by Mr R. P. B. Drayton (Lab., St Albans). The final costs of the residence and staff quarters are not yet to hand,” the Minister said. “With minor charges to come, the cost will be approximately $185,000.”
