New house delivery

Mr and Mrs M. A. Dawkins, of Weedons Road, tomorrow will receive their new house, complete except for wallpaper, delivered on a truck from Hornby. The three bedroom, splitlevel wooden house, of 970 sq. ft, is the first to be assembled in Christchurch by an Auckland firm which has opened its first South Island factory. The house, with metal tile roof, will be lowered on to foundations. Water, electricity, drains and other services have been arranged, and Mr and Mrs Dawson should move in next week. Wallpapering will be done when the house is secure on the foundations.

The builders, Keith Hay Homes, Ltd, will assemble a house a week at the Hornby factory. The firm has won a contract for houses at Twizel and will deliver a house each week for the next 20 weeks.
