Mr T. J. Sanger has been appointed secretary to the State Services Commission. He succeeds Mr D. N. Ryan, who was recently promoted to assistant commisioner. Mr Sanger joined the Public Service in the Forest Service in 1958 and in 1960 was appointed to the then Public Service Commission. After service in the Department of Agriculture from 1966 to 1970, he returned to the State Services Commission as a senior management services officer in 1971.
Mr I. D. Stevenson, chairman of the Metric Advisory Board, has been appointed a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Transport of London. He has been a member of the New Zealand division of the institute for about 12 years.
Mr D. G. Inniss (a director of Unilever, New Zealand, Ltd) has been re-elected chairman of the New Zealand Administrative Staff College Council. Mr L. T. Heath (assistant directorgeneral of the Post Office) has been re-elected deputy chairman.
Messrs W. G. Bugden (Insurance Council), L. J. Sullivan (Municipal Association), H. L. Riley (Counties’ Association), W. H. Reid (Urban Fire Authorities’ Association), A. R. Mason (Fire Brigade Employees’ Union) and E. G. Evans (United Fire Brigades’ Association) have been appointed members of the Fire Service Council for a three-year term. I
