GOLF FOR WOMEN

The number of women players affiliated to golf clubs in New Zealand has increased by more than 4000 in two years, to reach 36,726, according to figures published in the New Zealand Ladies’ Golf Union Official Year Book for 1972.

Three hundred and sixtysix women’s clubs are now affiliated to the union, ranging from the 471-member Auckland and 414-member Remuera clubs to the tiny Mackenzie club based in Twizel, which has only three members.
