Just Laddie destroyed
"The Press” Special Service CAMBRIDGE. The fine winter galloper, Just Laddie, had to be destroyed re* cently after severely injuring the tendons of a hind leg. Just Laddie, a six-year-old gelding by Forearmed from Autumn Glow, had won 10 races and recorded eight seconds, five thirds and six fourths for 818,715 in stakes.
He had only returned a few months ago to his Cambridge owner, Mrs R. M. McCulloch, after being raced earlier on lease by Mr and Mrs J. S. Spinks, of Paeroa, who also trained him.
Just Laddie’s best wins were the Short Handicap at Pukekohe, the Ponui Handicap at Ellerslie, the Stewards Handicap (twice) at the Taumarunui meeting at Te Awamutu and the President’s Handicap at Thames.
