TOWN HALL ORGAN
At the Christchurch City Council meeting on Monday it was suggested that the council should raise a loan for an organ for the new Town Hall. Cr D. R. Dowell said the council’s share of the loan would be about two-thirds and he thought other local bodies should be approached. This was agreed to. “It is a great pity to spoil the effect by opening the Town Hall without an organ.” said Mr Dowell Cr H. G. Hay said he would be pleased to raise the question at a Town Halt committee meeting. > Hockey.—Mr T. Blake* a former New Zealand Olympic hockey player, has been nominated as a North Island selector by the Whangarel Hockey Association.
