Semi-finalists found (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) JOHANNESBURG. Miss V. Wade (Britain), the second seed, will clash with Mrs G. Chamfreau (France), and the Wimbledon champion, Miss E. Goolagong (Australia) will meet the South African, Mrs P. Pretorius, in the South African open tennis women’s singles semi-finals. Miss Goolagong yesterday gained a 6-3, 6-0 win over the 17-year-old South African Miss A. McMillan, while Mrs Pretorius, the fifth seed, beat the fourth-seeded Australian, Miss H. Gourlay, 6-3, 7-5, in another quarter-final. The Texan, C. Richey, the top men’s seed, and the Spaniard, M. Orantes, qualified to meet in the men’s singles final. Richey fought back after dropping the first set to the fifth-seeded Spaniard, A. Gimeno, before clinching a marathon, 3-6, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3, semi-final lasting almost four hours. In contrast, Orantes had little trouble in overcoming the Chilean, J. Fillol, 6-3, 6-1, 6-4, in only 80 minutes.
