Ploughing back
A link between the 47 per cent increase in the sales of fertiliser to fanners last month and the first pay-outs under the Government’s sheep retention scheme was suggested by the provincial chairman of North Canterbury Federated Fanners yesterday. Mr A. F. Wright said the increase in fertiliser sales had shown that fanners were keen to improve their land but had been hampered by lack of money for this. “I’m convinced that the sheep retention money is being spent wisely," he said.
